Car Hire Excess Insurance »

Protects you from financial loss when you rent a car from a rental company. Available as a single trip covering one rental or as annual policy covering unlimited rentals up to 30 days in length.

When you rent a car you have a financial liability under the terms and conditions of the rental agreement for the first part of any damage, normally around €1,000 to the vehicle which occurred during the rental period regardless of how the damage occurred. In addition you are also liable for loss or damage to the tyres, windscreen, underbody and costs relating to the car being unavailable during a repair.

You may be offered the rental company's own Excess Waiver when you pick-up the car, but this may not cover all eventualities such as damage to tyres and the terms and conditions may be in the local language making them difficult to understand. We also know that rental companies may charge around €20 to €25 per day for this Excess Waiver.

Motorhome and Campervan Hire Insurance »

Motorhome and Campervan holidays have shown exponential growth in the last few years. Renters have the freedom to move from place to place enjoying a new view every night if they chose to.

When you rent a motorhome or campervan from a rental company you have a financial liability to the rental company for the first part of any damage to the vehicle during the hire period, which can be as high as €2,500. In addition you are also liable for loss or damage to the tyres, windscreen and underbody.

Riverside Malta's Motorhome and Campervan Insurance policy is designed for individuals renting a motorhome or campervan for trips up to 120 days in Europe or Worldwide, and is designed to provide peace of mind cover that includes any physical loss or damage to the rented vehicle.
